GREEN EXPO

The big news of this EJE's edition is the different view of the park designed as a public area and the delivering to the city of the emotion of an open air festival in the center of Cagliari. The European Jazz Expo management, in partnership with Legambiente, will take a series of actions to limit the environmental impact of the event in order to safeguard the integrity of Monte Claro Park. Our visitors will be crucially involved in the achievement of this goal.
Contribute actively to make EJE 2011 a festival friend of the Park and the environment.

Transports

Reach the EJE by means of transport able to reduce pollution such as the CTM public transport service, for example by using the bike-sharing service offered by the Municipality of Cagliari.

Consumption control: We invite those who can't do without their car to move with one car, or to make use of the car pooling service offered by www.passaggio.it

Waste

In addition to the waste baskets usually present in the Park, reciclyng spots for the separate collection of rubbish will be set up in the areas of high-traffic, where volunteers will assist the visitors.

Respect the Park, do not throw any kind of rubbish (cigarette butts, cups, napkins, chewing gum) on the grass.

Refreshments

Foods and drinks will be served in biodegradable glasses and dishes.

Use the same glass for more drinks.

Promotion

EJE promotional materials will be printed on recycled paper.

Don't throw them in the park!

Electricity Consumption

The audio and lights equipments are energy-efficient for six of the eight stages. The headlights to be used have LED light source and the audio systems are digital technology.

CO2 Emissions

All greenhouse gas emissions resulted from energy consumption, transport and materials referable to the European Jazz Expo 2011 will be balanced out. These emissions are expected to amount to approximately 29 tonnes of CO2 ,that will be balanced out by the purchase of 29 credits from a Forest plan in Italy prepared by AzzeroCO2
