TIGRAN HAMASYAN

Young and talented Armenian pianist (Gyumri), Tigran Hamasyan is the winner of the Thelonius Monk Competition in 2006. A child prodigy who at the bright young age of 24 was already recognized by the likes of Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock. Has released various albums, won many an award and taken part in important collaborations. His latest album, titled "Fable" has been published this year by Verve. An extraordinary work of haunting melodies for piano solo inspired by poems and "myths" which also revives the mood of his origins.
